Woodstock Baptist Church

Data Protection

Under Data Protection legislation the Church Charity Trustees of Woodstock Baptist Church (minister and deacons) are the Data Controllers and the Church Secretary (or if absent, the Minister) acts as our Data Protection Officer.

The Church will have in place a data Protection Policy based on a Baptist Union of Great Britain template which is compatible with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation which comes into force on 25 May 2018. The policy can be viewed on request to one of the church leadership.

We collect and store information to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information in keeping with GDPR principles and in the church's legitimate interest, but we do not give out information on our list to others.

You have received this email because your name is already on a list of people who are church members or who have previously asked to receive news relating to the church.

Your name and contact details are entered in a database which is password protected and accessible only to the Minister, Church Secretary and IT lead. Your contact details will be removed from the database if you are no longer a member or no longer wish to remain in contact with church news and events.

You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you by submitting a "Subject Access Request" to the Church Secretary. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified and also the right to request that your name and details are removed.

If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please speak to our Data Protection Officer. If you are still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.
